Roadmap

I like to think of roadmaps more like atlases: there are multiple ways (or routes to take) to accomplish a goal. Oftentimes, it’s important to be able to see more than one path but hard to do on your own. I like to work alongside teams to help them surface their options, plan and sequence work, and understand risks and tradeoffs. Photo by Ave Calvar Martinez from Pexels.

Segmentation

Before we do much else, it’s important to ensure we understand how to group our users. What are the tasks they need or want to complete? And within those tasks, how might they think about or interact with your product or service? Photo by Clem Onojeghuo from Pexels.

Requirements

Whether user stories, Jobs-To-Be-Done, or a requirements definition, documenting what your product needs to do, for whom and why is a critical point in building a successful product. Too vague and your product may miss the mark, too specific and you will impact your ability to iterate and improve. I’ll work alongside teams to gather, refine and ensure your requirements strike the right balance. Photo by Arthouse Studio from Pexels.

Experiences

We’re familiar with users journey maps, but what do we do with this information once it’s uncovered? It’s important to understand what the users of your product expected to happen, what they desire and what’s appropriate based on what you’re able to provide. Photo by Clem Onojeghuo from Pexels.

Research

We can have so many treasure troves of feedback available to us. Sometimes it’s a matter of the time and energy to distill this information and surface themes. Yet even then, we often need to dig in a little further to validate our thinking and really uncover the gains and pains of our products. Photo by Aleksandar Pasaric from Pexels.

Reporting

You’re putting so much energy into your product discovery, development, launch, marketing – but is it working? Data can be manipulated to show anything we want to see. Bringing in an objective third-party with a background building data products can help cut through the noise. Photo by Jill Burrow from Pexels.
